The University Campus Services Department conducted an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training for its staff on 31 st July, 2026 at the Lecture Theatre. The training sought to equip staff with practical knowledge on occupational health and safety measures, accident prevention, fire safety, workplace hazard identification, safe handling of cleaning chemicals, and the link between good health and workplace productivity. Speaking during the training, the Deputy Registrar, Human Resource Services and Registry, Mr. Stephen Karanja, urged staff to uphold professionalism, adhere to the University's terms of service, and observe disciplinary regulations. He also commended the employees for their dedication and strong performance during the recent performance appraisal exercise. The Deputy Registrar, Human Resource Services and Registry, Mr. Robert Borter underscored the importance of Occupational Health and Safety training, emphasising that staff should receive adequate instructions whenever they handle new equipment. He also stressed that the training should enable them document procedures introduced to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. The training was facilitated by Dr. Argwings Kodhek, Chief Medical Officer, Health, Safety and Wellness, and was attended by senior staff members from the Human Resource Services and Registry Department, KUDHEIHA TU-K Chapter representatives and other members of staff.
