The Technical University of Kenya is among 12 State Agencies that have been recognised for outstanding leadership in cascading directives on performance improvement and operational efficiency as demonstrated through comprehensive staff training and sensitisation. The list of top performing State Departments and Agencies is contained in a recently released document by the Executive Office of the President through the Office of the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service entitled 2025 Reflection Dinner and Agenda Setting for 2026.
TU-K which appears in Category Two, was also cited for its development of home-grown solutions that foster ownership and adherence, and timely follow-up on implementation by staff.
The recognition document has seven categories on which recognition was given namely;
- Unmodified Audit Opinion from the Auditor General for the Financial Year 2023/2024, which was earned through prudent, responsible and effective use and management of public resources.
- Leadership in cascading the directive on performance improvement
- Excellency in Regulatory Authorities and Agencies
- Excellency in Foreign Travel Management
- Recognition of institutions that made entries to the 6thAfrica Public Sector Conference and Awards Ceremony held on 6th - 8th October 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa.
- Recognition of the exemplary performance in the delivery of the core mandate of the State Corporations Act, Mwongozo - the Code of Governance for State Corporations, and all related circulars on the conduct of State Corporations
- Leadership in Robustly driving the Public Service Transformation Agenda in 2025 for Principal Secretaries.
