Welcome Message to New Students

Congratulations and Welcome to the Technical University of Kenya!

I take this opportunity to congratulate and welcome all the students who have been admitted into the various degree programmes at our premier University. The Technical University of Kenya and The Office of the Director Students Support Services pledge to be your partners in your quest to reach your academic and personal goals.

The DSSS coordinates all aspects of the co-curricular experience and our goal is to provide a high quality experience that not only complements, but also enhances the learning that takes place in lecture theatres by promoting and facilitating programs, facilities, resources and support for each student.

Orientation is the first step in this remarkable journey and attendance is compulsory. During orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet Senior Officials of the University; learn more about strategies for successfully adjusting to college life; getting involved on campus and making good choices. These sessions will also provide practical and valuable information on policies, programmes and services that are available to promote a conducive environment for education and training for the real world in support of your success.

We are committed to helping all students be successful at the University and we are counting on you to play an active part. The Directorate of Students Support Services oversees and coordinates the Chaplaincy, Sports and Co-curricular activities, Students Accommodation and Catering, Student Clubs and Associations, Student Union, Counseling Services and many other areas of student life. We are therefore confident that each member of the DSSS team will contribute to your physical, emotional, intellectual and social development on campus.
