Bachelor of Technology Programmes
Candidates must obtained at least a minimum of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations. In addition, they must satisfy Kenya Polytechnical University admission requirements. Prospective candidates falling into the categories listed below shall be eligible for admission.
KCSE or Equivalent
A candidate must have obtained a minimum grade of C+ with a C+ in Biology, Chemistry, English/Kiswahili and Mathematics/Physics at KCSE level.
A Levels or Equivalent
Candidates must have obtained a minimum of two (2) principal passes in Biology and Chemistry and a subsidiary level pass in Mathematics with a credit pass in English at O-Level/subsidiary pass in General Paper at A-level.
Diploma (TEP) or Equivalent
Candidates with a Diploma (Technical Education Program) in Biological sciences of Kenya Polytechnical University or an equivalent qualification
Diploma in Technology or Equivalent
Candidates with a Diploma in Technology (Dip.Tech.) in Biotechnology of Kenya Polytechnical University or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
Besides the general Technical University of Kenya , the minimum number of course units for programs in the School of Pure and Applied Sciences shall be at least 56 of the listed course units as scheduled, except where EXEMPTIONS are given. Conditions for passing from one year of study to the next one will be governed by the general School of Pure and Applied Sciences Regulations.
